Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for services provided by Tree & Compass.

1. Nature of services

Tree & Compass provides personalised celebrant services. Each ceremony involves preparation, consultation, and time committed in advance.

Because of this, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the nature of the service and work already undertaken.

2. Deposits and advance payments

Where a deposit or advance payment is requested:

  • Deposits secure a date and cover initial preparation time

  • Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has begun

This will be clearly explained at the time of booking.

3. Cancellations by the client

If you need to cancel a booking, you are encouraged to notify Tree & Compass as soon as possible.

Refunds may be offered depending on:

  • the amount of notice given

  • the type of ceremony

  • the preparation already completed

In some circumstances, a partial refund may be appropriate.

Each situation will be considered with care and fairness, particularly for funeral services.

4. Cancellations by Tree & Compass

In the unlikely event that Tree & Compass must cancel a service due to illness or unforeseen circumstances:

  • You will be informed as soon as possible

  • Any fees paid will be refunded in full, unless an alternative arrangement is agreed

5. Changes to services

If a service changes significantly from what was originally agreed (for example, changes in date, location, or scope), any impact on fees or refunds will be discussed openly before proceeding.

6. Funeral services

Tree & Compass recognises that funeral arrangements can change unexpectedly.

Refund decisions for funeral services are handled with sensitivity and discretion, taking into account:

  • timing

  • preparation undertaken

  • the circumstances involved

7. Refund method

Any approved refunds will be issued using the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed.
